Child among 3 killed in Chakaria road crash

At least three people including a minor girl were killed and 12 others injured when a truck collided head-on with a microbus in Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria today.

The deceased were identified as Komol, 50, an unidentified 35-year-old woman and her three-year-old girl, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

The incident took place in Harbang Goyahmara area on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway around 1:30pm, Faridur Rahman in-charge of Firinga Highway Police outpost, said.

Locals rushed the injured to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex. Of them, five were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

Drivers of both vehicles managed to flee.
