Cabinet today approved an agreement with India to export 10 gigabits per second bandwidth to Tripura, a northeastern state in India.
As per the three-year agreement to be signed between Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Bangladesh will export the bandwidth by Tk 9.42 crore per year, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said.
He was talking to reports after the regular cabinet meeting at the secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
BSNL will purchase 10 Gbps initially and will increase the amount gradually, Bhuiyan said.
