Bullet-hit body of Shibir leader found in Rajshahi
The bullet-hit body of an Islami Chhatra Shibir leader was found in Rajshahi city this morning.
The deceased, Shohidul Islam, 24, of Bharalipara area of the city, was a Sathi member of Shibir and also younger brother of the organisation's city unit president Jasim Uddin, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shah Makhdum Police Station.
A source at Shibir told The Daily Star that Shohidul was arrested by police from one of his friend's house on Saturday. But police denied the claim.
Informed by locals around 7:00am, police recovered the body from a field, 50 yards off Kharkhari bypass road, in Kistoganj area, reports our correspondent quoting the OC.
The body, which bore five bullet mark injuries, was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
He was a fugitive accused in more than seven cases filed for violence, said the OC.
