Eminent author and teacher of Shahjalal Univesity of Science and Technology (SUST) Muhammed Zafar Iqbal today said that reformation is needed in the quota system.

"The quota ratio in our country is not appropriate as a 56 percent quota is not logical in public service," Dr Iqbal said while talking to reporters on SUST campus this afternoon, reports our Sylhet correspondent.

“I am not against the quota system, but this ratio should be lesser,” he said adding, "Quota is given for promoting backward communities. The quota ratio should certainly be rational and consistent."

The renowned writer also condemned the police action on agitating students.
