Another RU teacher gets death threat
Twenty-six days into the gruesome killing of Rajshahi University teacher Prof Rezaul Karim Siddiquee, a teacher of sociology department of the university today received death threat.
“I got a letter that asked me to remain prepared to see my body sliced into many pieces,” Syed Hasan Imam, told our RU correspondent.
The letter was pasted on the door of his university office around 10:00am today, he said.
Prof Imam said he can relate the language of letter with a book that he wrote earlier. “I have written a book named Muktijuddher Khanda Chitra (Episodes of the Liberation War) earlier. It might be the cause of the threat,” he added.
Imam filed a general dairy with Motihar Police Station in this connection seeking his adequate security.
Humayan Kabir, officer-in-charge of the police station, assured the teacher about his security.
Earlier on April 23, miscreants hacked to death Prof Rezaul Karim, 58, of the RU English department, in the city's Shalbagan area while he was waiting for university bus.
