Airport security: Govt inks deal with UK company
The government today inked a deal with British company Redline for screening at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a bid to standardise its security aspects.
As per the deal, Redline will provide advice to the staffs of the Dhaka airport and will build them as skilled manpower for the job of screening and improving its standard.
Apart from this, the company will also provide them training to make the efforts a success.
Rashed Khan Menon, civil aviation and tourism minister, made the announcement after signing the deal at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) office this afternoon.
Menon said experts of the Redline will start their works at the airport from tomorrow.
Around 29 experts of the company will be deployed at the airport by two or three days, the minister added.
Acting director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Md Nurul Islam, Caab Chairman Air Vice-Marshal Ehsanul Gani Chowdhury, Redline's Chief Executive Officer Paul Mason and others were present at the deal signing programme.
