4 of a family burnt in Khulna gas pipeline blast

Four members of a family including a policeman suffered burn injuries as a gas pipeline exploded at Mojgani in Khulna city this morning.

One of the injured was identified as Atiur Rahman, constable of Khalishpur Police Station.

Locals said the gas pipeline exploded around 7:15 am when the wife of Atiur Rahman was cooking in the kitchen.

Just after the explosion, Atiur, his son and daughter rushed to the spot and they also sustained burn injuries.

Later, locals whisked them off to the burn unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.
