Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested a man and seized 30 gold bars weighing around 3.5 kilograms from his possession at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this afternoon.

The detainee, Rafiqul Islam, of Comilla, arrived at the airport from Saudi Arabia on a flight of Saudi Airlines around 3:00pm, said Alamgir H Shimul, senior assistant superintendent of APBn.

Following his suspicious movement in the car parking area just outside the airport, APBn officials captured the 44-year-old and found the gold worth around Tk 1.75 core after searching his body.
