28 illegal structures demolished on Patuakhali-Kuakata road

A mobile court of Water Development Board demolished 28 illegal structures on both sides of the Patuakhali-Kuakata road during an eviction drive today.

The court, led by Executive Magistrate Ibn Al Jayed Hossain, began the drive at Hetalia Badghat bazaar in Patuakhali Sadar upazila around 9:30am, reports our local correspondent.

Md Hasanuzzaman, executive engineer of WDB, said that 28 illegal structures were removed on the first day of the drive today and it will continue until the all the establishments are uprooted from the area.

Two other Executive Magistrates Md Arfan Uddin and Md Golam Sarwar, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC revenue) Md Mamunur Rashid were also present there.

Md Shahjahan, sub-assistant land officer for Patuakhali Sadar, said, “We are preparing a list of all illegal occupiers who have built the structures by grabbing government”.
