Law enforcers today recovered bodies of two newborn babies from dustbins in Bhatikeshor and Baghmara areas of Mymensingh town.

Police on information recovered the bodies in the morning and sent those to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, Mahbub-or-Rashid, a sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, told our correspondent.

"We are investigating into the incident and trying to find out those who are involved in this connection", said Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge (investigation) of the police station.

Locals alleged that there are many unauthorised clinics in the town which conduct illegal acts such as abortion due to lack of proper monitoring.

When contacted, Mymensingh Civil Surgeon AKM Abdur Rafiq said, “We have already served notices to the unauthorised clinic owners to take licenses on several occasions but many have not responded yet”.

Over the recovery of the bodies, the official said they will form a probe body to investigate into the incident.
