Barishal district comes under lockdown
Authorities have put Barishal district under lockdown from today until further notice in a bid to prevent spread of novel coronavirus.
Barishal Deputy Commissioner SM Ajiar Rahman came up with a directive in this regard this evening after two people were diagnosed with Covid-19 today for the first time in the district, reports our local correspondent.
No one will be allowed to enter or exit the district during the lockdown, while inter-district communication between Barishal and other regions will remain suspended until further instruction in this regard, according to the directive.
Emergency services including baby food, medicine stores, ambulances, vehicles of law enforcers, power and utilities, and fire-fighting services will remain out of purview of the lockdown measures, Barishal district administration confirmed.
