Covid-19 positivity rate 19.93%; 81 deaths, 6,058 new cases recorded in 24 hours
Eighty-one people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this the total number of deaths in the country has reached 13,868 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent.
At least 6,058 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 8,72,935, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 19.93 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.56 percent.
A total of 30,391 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.
At least 3,230 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,94,783 and the recovery rate at 91.05 percent.
Among the 81 deceased, 55 were men and 26 were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, eight were within 21-30, nine between 31-40, nine between 41-50, 18 between 51-60 and 36 were above 60 years old, added the release.
