Two passengers were held with three thousand pieces of yaba tablets inside their stomachs at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today.

Acting on a tip-off, the airport armed police and the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) detained them from the premise of the domestic terminal around 12:30pm, Alamgir Hosen, additional superintendent of police (Ops and Media) of Airport Armed Police, told The Daily Star.

The detainees -- Mamun Mallick, 31, and Md Jabul Sheikh, 30, -- came to Dhaka from Cox's Bazar by a Novoair flight around 11:50am, the police official said.

Later, the yaba tablets, worth around Tk nine lakh, were detected in their stomachs through x-ray.

A case was filed against them with the Airport Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
