Snatcher tears off earlobe of woman in Gulistan

A woman was injured in Dhaka’s Gulistan today when a snatcher pulled away her earring in front of Golap Shah Mazar.

Layla Begum, 30, was going to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a rickshaw with her ill daughter when the incident happened around 11:00am.

It was a cheap imitation earring that the snatcher pulled away, Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, told The Daily Star.

In the process, the snatcher managed to tear the woman’s earlobe. She received treatment at the emergency unit of the hospital, the police officer said.
