SB man robbed off gold, cash by agyan party
A Special Branch (SB) constable was robbed of gold rings, cash and two cell phones by a doping gang (agyan party) on a bus on his way from Gazipur to Malibagh in Dhaka this afternoon.
Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, told The Daily Star that Faruq Azam, 57, a constable posted in Gazipur, fell victim to the doping gang while travelling to Dhaka on a bus.
The victim’s son Al-Amin said they hailed from Kapasia in Gazipur. He was also travelling to Dhaka with his father by a bus of Balaka Paribahan. As the bus was crowded, Al-Amin was standing in front of his father but was pushed by the crowd to the back of the vehicle.
The incident occurred around 4:00pm.
When they reached Moghbazar Wireless gate area, he went to his father and found him resting keeping his head on the seat in front of him.
Al-Amin called his father as they would get down there. Some passengers told him that some time back his father drank coconut water offered by some passengers as his mouth became dry.
Al-Amin took his father to DMC Hospital where his stomach has been washed but he is yet to regain consciousness.
Al-Amin said he works in Singapore and came to Bangladesh on leave. He bought two gold rings, two cell phone sets. His father was also carrying cash at the time of the incident. The miscreants took away all these.
