RU teachers postpone strike till May 28
Teachers at Rajshahi University have postponed till May 28 the ongoing strike they enforced soon after the murder of Prof AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.
They came up with the decision today following the assurance from three ministers and the inspector general of police of taking steps to arrest the culprits, reports our RU correspondent.
“We will resume boycotting classes and examinations if the government fails to arrest the killers by this time,” Prof Shah Azam Shantonu, general secretary of Rajshahi University Teachers Association, said at a press conference at Juberee Bhaban on the campus.
