Cop suspended for losing arms, ammo in Dhaka

An assistant sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station has been suspended for allegedly losing his pistol and ammunition.

ASI Himangshu Saha has been suspended after he lost his pistol and 16 rounds of bullets from the waiting room of the police station on May 5, said Maruf Hossain Sorder, deputy commissioner (Ramna Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

A case has been filed with the police station in this connection, DC Maruf Hossain said.

Police are investigating the matter and trying to recover the pistol and ammunition, he added.
