Parents, son found dead in Mirpur
Police recovered bodies of a man, his wife and son from an apartment in Dhaka’s Mirpur this evening.
The deceased were identified as Bayezid, 45, a businessman, his wife Anjana, 40, and son Farhan, 16, a first-year student of Mirpur Commerce College.
Police suspected that Bayezid committed suicide after killing his wife and only son.
One of the relatives of the deceased informed police after he did not get any response from the flat of Bayezid when he came to visit them around 1:30 pm, said Selimuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kafrul Police Station.
Police went to the flat on road no-5, Block-B, Section -13 in Mirpur and found Bayezid’s body hanging from the ceiling while bodies of his wife and son were laying on the bed, the OC said.
Some packets of Biriyani were found in the room, the police official said adding that Bayezid might have fed his wife and son the food after mixing poison and later committed suicide by hanging himself.
There were different writings on the wall of the room that reads “no one is responsible for my death,” police said.
Once Bayezid owned a netting garment factory in Mirpur, however, had to shut it down for financial loss, locals said.
