No gate-lock, sitting service in Dhaka from April 15

Transport owners today announced that no public transport will operate in Dhaka city in the name of sitting service, gate-lock or special service from April 15.

Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Association announced the decision at a press briefing held at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital this afternoon.

“There have been a lot of irregularities in the public transport sector so far. The decision has been made in a bid to bring discipline to this sector,” said Khandakar Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the transport owners’ association.
