Pak embassy burglars held, all but cooler recovered
Police have arrested six people involved with the burglary at Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka and recovered most of the stolen items from them.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Mostak Ahmed declared the arrests today. “All items have been recovered except an air cooler.”
The arrestees were identified as Md Mostafa, 35, Dulal Mia, 34, Md Sajal alias Kalu, 22, Md Zahangr Alam, 45, Nimai Babu, 42 and Md Sekul Islam, 35.
“Kalu used to collect waste bottles behind Pakistan High Commission,” Commissioner Mostak said at the press briefing at Gulshan Police Station.
“He plotted the theft after seeing a broken wall. He along with his accomplices made the heist on November 22,” he said. “We identified them from CCTV footage.”
Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka said burglars made a heist in their facility on November 22 and took away computers containing official records and data.
