Customs officials today seized gold bars weighing around 6 kilograms from underneath the seat of a flight coming in from Doha at Dhaka airport.

The price of the gold is estimated to be around Tk 3 crore, Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, an assistant commissioner of airport customs, told The Daily Star.

The gold was found under the seat of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane that came via Chittagong and landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 1:15pm.

Customs official are suspecting the involvement of Biman staffs with the smuggling.
