Bodies of 2 kids recovered from Buriganga river

Two children died as a boat capsized in the Buriganga river in Dhaka’s Sadarghat area today.
The deceased were identified as Nisrat, 7, and Nusrat, 5, children of Babul Faridi who is a resident of Keraniganj, our staff photographer reports from the spot.

According to the locals, Babul along with his five family members hired a boat after getting down from a launch at Sadarghat around 6:30am.
The boat capsized in the river due to high waves when another launch passed through the river water, the locals said.

Babul and his three other family members managed to swim ashore but Nisrat and Nusrat went missing, police said.
Later, divers conducted a search operation in the river and recovered the bodies, the photojournalist reports.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadarghat Police Station Rezaul Karim Bhuiyan confirmed the incident.
Babul, a businessman, came to Dhaka today from his village in Bakerganj of Barishal district.
