Human rights violators to be booked: Anisul
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said those who will violate the human rights will be brought under the law and be tried.
“The government’s stance about the violators of human rights is clear. One of the aims of Sheikh Hasina led government is to establish human rights in Bangladesh and the government is always working to this effect, therefore, the human rights situation has developed in the country,” he said.
The law minister said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with a five-member delegation of the United Nations (UN) led by its senior Human Rights Advisers Heike Alefsen and Shoko Ishikawa at his secretariat office this afternoon.
Replying to a question, Minister Anisul Huq said the incident of suffering in jail of Jaha Alam for three years instead of the real accused in 26 corruption cases is very unfortunate.
Condemning the incident, the law minister said the Anti-Corruption Commission has been informed about the incident.
“I feel that they (ACC) will take serious steps quickly to this issue,” he added.
