DMP bans stickers of various professions on vehicles
Dhaka Metropolitan Police will not allow the use of stickers on vehicles identifying various professionals like journalists, police and lawyers.
The decision has been taken so that criminals cannot commit crimes using vehicles carrying the stickers of different professionals, DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said at a briefing at DMP media centre this morning.
Legal action will be taken against the offenders, he added.
But organisations can use painted logos on their vehicles, the DMP commissioner said.
The DMP already started its drive against these kinds of stickers from April 24, Asaduzzaman informed.
Only lawmakers and their families, employees of the Parliament and Parliament secretariat and its other departments can use stickers on their personal vehicles, the DMP commissioner said.
He also asked not to use hydraulic horns in vehicles as “it creates noise”.
Moreover, DMP will not allow three or more people on a motorcycle, the DMP boss said adding that if anyone is found violating the instruction, he or she will be fined.
