DMC writes to take away bodies of killed militants
Dhaka Medical College authorities have written to police urging to take away the bodies of killed militants, which neither the families nor anyone is claiming yet.
Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, confirmed The Daily Star about receiving a letter from DMC authorities in this regard last week.
Currently, seven freezing chambers at DMC are out of order, said Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor at the hospital’s Forensic and Medicine Department.
“The remaining are being used to keep the body of the militants,” he told The Daily Star.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star that relatives of the slain militants are yet to apply to receive the dead bodies.
Among the dead bodies of the 13 militants in the DMC morgue, nine are of those killed during Kalyanpur raid, three in Narayanganj raid, and one in Mirpur raid.
