Businessman shot dead in Banani

Unidentified miscreants shot dead a businessman at his office near Banani graveyard in Dhaka tonight.

The victim, Siddique Munshi, 50, used to send people abroad, Rafiqul Islam, assistant commissioner (AC) of Gulshan Zone, told The Daily Star.

A group of unidentified men fired several rounds of bullets after entering the victim’s office at Block – B on Road – 4 near the graveyard around 7:30pm, the police official said.

Doctors at United Hospital in Gulshan said that Munshi was brought dead with a bullet wound on his chest, Sabbir Ahmed, duty manager of the hospital, said.

Three employees with bullet wounds were admitted to the hospital, he said.
