Bus helper killed in Dhaka road crash

A bus helper was killed after another bus ran him over at Kalshi intersection in Pallabi area of Dhaka early today.

The deceased Moshiur Alam Lebu, supervisor of Akik Parabahan, hailed from Pirojpur, breathed his last around 4:10 pm at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Quoting witnesses, Sub-Inspector Nur-E-Alam of Pallabi Police Station, said a bus of Tur Paribahan hit Moshiur around 12:45 am while he was crossing the road at Kalshi intersection near Pallabi Police Station.

Bus staff of Akik Parabahan rescued Moshiur and whisked him off to a local hospital, said the SI, adding that later, he was shifted to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries.

The body was kept to DMCH morgue for autopsy, he added.

However, the driver managed to flee away from the scene.
