Sunny indicted in dowry case, faces arrest
Cricketer Arafat Sunny was indicted in a dowry case today, following which the court issued an arrest warrant for the former national sportsman.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain Tipu passed the order after hearing around 11:30am today, reports our court correspondent from the spot.
Sunny’s lawyer Muraduzzaman said, a petition was placed before the court to defer today’s indictment hearing. But, the court scrapped the petition.
The cricketer’s bail has been cancelled and an arrest warrant has been issued for him.
On January 20, a woman claiming to be Sunny’s wife filed the case against him. In the case statement she said Sunny demanded Taka 20 lakh from her as dowry after their marriage.
