ACC finds 22 sources of corruption in Titas
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has identified 22 sources of possible corruption at Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Co Ltd.
The anti-graft body today submitted an investigative and observational report to the state minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources mentioning the possible corruption sources, reports UNB.
Illegal connection, illegal link renegotiation, meter tampering, excessive gas connection to boiler and generator, system loss, negligence to install EVC (Electronic Volume Corrector) are among the corruption sources as per the ACC report.
ACC Commissioner Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan submitted the report at the Bangladesh Secretariat. The ACC teams identified the sources of corruption by conducting investigations, he said.
He also said that the ACC officials collected information after discussion with Titas Gas Company's retired officers, working officers and other concerned persons.
Besides, the team also reviewed the statements of the beneficiaries, annual reports, audit reports, information of victims of corruption and irregularities of Titas, and corruption reports published in newspapers, the ACC commissioner said.
On the basis of overall review, the ACC also submitted a 12-point recommendation for the prevention of corruption in the company.
