3 held with 36 gold bars at Dhaka airport

Three persons have been detained with 36 gold bars and ornaments, weighing 3.9 kg, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this evening.

Members of Dhaka Custom House, Airport unit detained Yousuf Ali (passport no AC 8828563), Masud Rana (passport no AA0953870) and Mohammad Ali (passport no AF 0753293) in this connection.

36 gold bars and 300 grams of ornaments worth of Tk 2 crore were recovered from their possession, said SM Sohel Rahman, joint commissioner of Custom House, Dhaka.

The trio reached the airport around 8:00pm from Singapore by a flight, Tiger Air 2656, the official added.
