200 illegal business set-ups evicted in Farmgate

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today evicted a number of illegal business establishments and removed signboards and other advertising elements in Farmgate area.

A DNCC team led by Executive Magistrate SM Aziur Rahman evicted around 200 illegal business establishments and removed thousands of signboards and banners from different points including the Green Super Market in the area, said a press release of the DNCC.

The magistrate also fined 11 business establishments Tk 1.44 lakh for running business illegally, it said.

On December 26, the DNCC cancelled trade licence of six coaching centres’ Farmgate branch for not bringing down unauthorised advertising elements including signboards and posters from the area.

The coaching centres are: UCC, Uniaid, Icon, Icon Plus, Omeca and Paragon. All the coaching centres are located in the Farmgate area of the capital.
