University of East Anglia offering merit scholarships to Bangladeshi students

University of East Anglia, a public research university in Norwich, England, is offering merit-based scholarships to Bangladeshi students applying to postgraduate taught programmes (scholarships are not available in postgraduate research programmes). Awards range from GBP 5,500 to GBP 6,500. 

Eligibility criteria

  • Scholarships are available to students applying to the schools of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Computing Sciences, Economics, Education, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics, Environmental Sciences, Global Development, Health Sciences, History, Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities, Law, Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, Media, Language and Communication Studies, Medicine, Norwich Business School, Politics, Philosophy Language and Communication Studies, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.
  • Students seeking admission to MBBS courses are not eligible. Scholarships are also not available for integrated Master's, MSc Global Plant Health, MSc Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement, MSc Occupational Therapy, or MSc Physiotherapy.
  • The scholarship will be worth GBP 5,500 for applicants who have the equivalent of a UK 2:2 bachelor's degree (a GPA of 3 is accepted in this regard). 
  • The scholarship will be worth GBP 6,500 for applicants who have the equivalent of a UK 2:1 bachelor's degree (a GPA of 3.2 is accepted in this regard). 
  • Applicants must have either a four years bachelor's degree or a combination of a three years bachelor's degree and a masters degree.
  • If a programme is two years in length, the scholarship will only be available for the first year. 

How to apply

  • Students who apply to the University of East Anglia for studies commencing in September 2025 or January/February 2026 will automatically be considered for the scholarships and no separate application is required. Eligible candidates will be notified of their award shortly after an offer is made.
  • The scholarship is offered as a tuition fee waiver.
