DU FBS hosts Sales Fair 2025

Designed to test students' ability to convert foot traffic into sales, the Sales Fair 2025 was held on September 24, 2025, at the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), Dhaka University (DU). The fair was sponsored by Akij Essentials. The event allowed students in the Selling and Sales Management course to apply their classroom knowledge under the guidance of Prof. Shehely Parvin and the Marketing 27th Batch.

The event was held over the course of the day and featured 16 stalls showcasing products and services from 17 companies and business owners. This immersive environment facilitated the practical application of theoretical concepts acquired in the Selling and Sales Management course. Through direct engagement with customers and the operational responsibilities inherent in stall management, students enhanced their competencies in sales techniques, interpersonal communication, and strategic problem-solving.

Midway through the event, a team debrief was conducted where students analysed sales data and customer feedback to identify successful strategies and areas for improvement. This reflection enabled them to adjust their approach in real-time, demonstrating adaptive decision-making and reinforcing their learning process. This experiential learning not only reinforced foundational marketing theories but also cultivated critical real-world skills such as customer relationship management, transactional negotiation, and adaptive decision-making.

Star Kabab distinguished itself by attaining the highest sales at the event, with total earnings reaching BDT 4.10 lakh. In recognition of this accomplishment, Dr Serajul Haque, Prof. and Chairman of the Marketing Department, served as the chief guest and presented the team with a formal token of appreciation, commending their exemplary application of sales strategies. This acknowledgement not only celebrates individual success but also underscores the broader value of experiential learning in bridging academic concepts with real-world business outcomes.
