Browse Internet for free from tomorrow
Bangladesh is going to be a part of internet.org, a non-profit group domain which allows free Internet browsing through mobile gadgets.
The offer which starts from tomorrow will be inaugurated by the State minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, said Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, chief operating officer Robi confirmed.
Initially, subscribers of mobile phone operator Robi will enjoy it through internet.org, an invention of the social media platform Facebook.
"The ICT Ministry, Facebook and Robi have come together for this great event," said Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, chief operating officer Robi.
Through this service any Robi user can easily access Facebook except for uploading any image or video. Users also cannot access VoIP service through it, Robi informed.
The third largest operator in the country already found 29 partners of the government and private sectors and subscribers to browse it only when they have to buy an internet package.
The internet.org app is currently operating in Colombia, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Zambia, Indonesia, Guatemala and The Philippines. It will be launching in Panama in the coming weeks.
