What is the best graphics card and power supply to buy in early 2017? Cannot decide whether to go green or red? NVIDIA or AMD? Below are the best GPUs and suitable PSUs for every purpose, including gaming, streaming high-res movies, video and graphics rendering, etc. Also, most of these graphics cards will run seamlessly on less powerful PSUs than recommended, but a little bit of headroom is always safe to have.

Entry level:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 2GB 

Good for playing games like League of Legends at mid to high settings, you can easily get upwards of 60 FPS at 1080p resolution. The 2GB VRAM will slightly boost photo/video rendering times. Offers a fanless edition for silent computing.

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB 

Good for budget 4k setups and playing most new games at high settings with good FPS at 1080p. Excellent for budget editing rigs. Performs better than AMD's RX460, leading by a few FPS in most titles, but RX460 is about 4,000tk cheaper. If you got the extra bucks, the 1050 Ti is the overall best choice in this category.

Best bang for your buck:

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 480

Currently the best graphics card for the money. The 1060 is a very good GPU for gaming in 2K as it is capable of running most titles at a decent frame rate and settings on this resolution. If you prefer AMD, the RX 480 is also an extremely capable competitor offering higher VRAM, but is much less power efficient than the the GTX 1060.

The best GPU for high-res gaming today is the GTX 1080. You can surely opt for multi-gpu setups if you want to enjoy higher FPS 4K gaming and don't mind holes bigger than the moon in your wallet.
