South Asian Baseball and Softball Federation elects new executive committee

The 2nd General Council Meeting of the South Asian Baseball and Softball Federation (SABSF) was held at The Grand Four Fourwings Hotel in Bangkok, where elections were held for the Executive Committee for the 2026–2029 term.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah of Pakistan was unanimously elected as President, while Dr. Anupam Hossain of Bangladesh was elected as Senior Vice President, and Deepak Neupane of Nepal as General Secretary.
Dr. Hossain, a prominent public health expert and sports media personality, also serves as Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Baseball and Softball Association.
Additionally, Md. Afzalur Rahman, President of the Bangladesh Baseball and Softball Association, was elected as the 1st Member-at-Large, and Rafiq Mia Chowdhury was appointed as Executive Director of the Federation.
The newly elected committee is expected to steer the growth of baseball and softball across South Asia over the next four years, focusing on regional development, youth engagement, and international collaboration.
