Electro Mart Group wins SDG Champion Prize 2025

Electro Mart Group, the manufacturer of Konka, Gree and Haiko electronics in Bangladesh, has won the SDG Champion Prize 2025 in Nepal for its contribution to achieving key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The award was handed over in Nepal by Dr Rambhakta Thakur, former ambassador and election commissioner of Nepal, along with former tourism minister Yankila Sherpa and former minister for women, children and senior citizens Bhagwati Chaudhary.

The prize recognises Electro Mart Group's contribution to SDG targets 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 through the manufacturing, marketing and after-sales services of electronics products in Bangladesh.

Electro Mart Group began its journey in Bangladesh by introducing Konka and Gree electronics and later expanded from a trading business into manufacturing. Since 2018, the group has been producing Konka, Gree and its own brand Haiko electronics and home appliances at its factory in Narayanganj. Through technology sharing with China, the company manufactures eco-friendly and modern technology-based products for local consumers.

Group Deputy Managing Director Md Nurul Afser received the certificate and crest on behalf of the company.

He said, "Every recognition creates new responsibility which will make us more responsible and motivated to work in every moment of the future."

The group said its activities focus on poverty reduction, employment generation, and environmental protection, aligning its operations with the global sustainable development agenda.
