Eastern University launches ‘Battle of Traders – Season 5’ with Winter Fest

Eastern University has inaugurated the entrepreneurship fair "Battle of Traders – Season 5" alongside its Winter Fest on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The three-day event is being held on the university campus and has been organised by the Eastern University Business & Social Entrepreneurship Club (BSEC).

The fair was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Professor Dr. Farid Ahmed Sobhani. Professor Hafiz T. A. Khan, Professorial Fellow of Oxford University, United Kingdom, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by the Registrar, deans, heads of departments, faculty members, officials, and a large number of students.

Students from Eastern University, as well as participants from other universities and colleges across the country, are taking part in the fair. The campus has been filled with creative and innovative stalls displaying a wide range of products.

The organisers said the fair aims to provide a practical platform for young entrepreneurs to present business ideas, showcase products, and develop entrepreneurial skills.

In his speech, Professor Dr. Farid Ahmed Sobhani emphasised the importance of building an entrepreneurial mindset among young people. He said such initiatives help promote practical learning and leadership development among students.

The event will continue on December 29, 30, and 31. Alongside the entrepreneurship fair, the Winter Fest features traditional pitha and food stalls, adding a festive atmosphere to the campus.

The overall supervision of the event is being carried out by K. M. Monirul Islam, Deputy Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Placement at Eastern University.
