BYD opens new showroom in Dhaka's Paltan

BYD has inaugurated a new showroom in Paltan, Dhaka, expanding its retail presence as demand for electric and hybrid vehicles grows in Bangladesh.

The outlet has been opened through Merchant Autos, a dealer partner of CG Runner BD Limited, the sole distributor of BYD in the country, says a press release.

The showroom was inaugurated by Hafizur Rahman Khan, chairman of CG Runner Bangladesh, while Charles Keith, country manager (sales division) of BYD Asia Pacific, attended as special guest.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hafizur Rahman Khan said the Paltan showroom would help bring eco-friendly and advanced automobile technology closer to customers in central Dhaka, adding that CG Runner BD is supporting the government’s target of increasing electric vehicle adoption to 30 percent by 2030.

Charles Keith said Bangladesh represents a promising market for sustainable mobility solutions and that the new outlet reflects BYD’s long-term commitment to technology-driven, environmentally responsible transport.

The welcome address was delivered by Tahreer Newaz, managing director of Merchant Autos, who said the showroom has been designed to offer a premium customer experience, supported by trained teams providing sales and after-sales services for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Guests at the event viewed several models on display, including the BYD Seal, the plug-in hybrid BYD Sealion 6 and the BYD Atto 3, as the company continues to expand its new energy vehicle lineup in Bangladesh.
