Int'l yarn and fabric show begins in Dhaka

The 23rd Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2025 (Winter Edition) kicks off at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital's Purbachal today.
Anwar Hossain, vice-chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau and administrator of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, inaugurated the event as the chief guest, according to a press release.
The show, jointly organised by CEMS-Global USA and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-TEX), has brought together industry leaders, innovators, and professionals from across the globe.
Mohammad Hatem, president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association; Md Shahidul Islam, director general of the Department of Textiles; Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, secretary and executive member (investment ecosystem) of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Chief Adviser's Office; Song Yang, commercial consul of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China; and Zhang Jiang, secretary, were present.
Meherun N Islam, president and group managing director of CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific, and Zhang Tao, vice-president of CCPIT-TEX, among others, were also present.
