foodpanda insures 1,000 riders against accidents

Country's leading online food and grocery delivery platform, foodpanda, has partnered with Green Delta Insurance PLC to provide free insurance coverage for accidental protection to its 1,000 top-performing riders.

As part of its efforts to support and safeguard delivery personnel, the Panda Riders Personal Accidental Insurance plan was introduced to offer financial assistance in the event of an accident resulting in death or disability.

The 1,000 riders receiving the coverage were selected for their consistent dedication, particularly during the challenging rainy season, according to a press release.

Under the plan, riders or their families will receive up to Tk 1 lakh in the event of death or permanent total disability, and Tk 50,000 for partial disability.

Speaking about the initiative, Mukitur Khan, head of logistics at foodpanda Bangladesh, said, "Riders are an integral part of the foodpanda ecosystem. With this insurance plan, we aim to prioritise their well-being and safety by recognising their efforts and providing them with financial security."
