Non-rectangular football pitch among 2016's best inventions

'The Unusual Football Field' is a project by property development company AP Thailand.

AP Thailand's social outreach project, which sees the construction of non-rectangular shaped football pitches, was listed in Time magazines' "The 25 Best Inventions of 2016" list.

"The Unusual Football Field" is a project by the property development company. It aims to maximise the use of small and narrow lands to benefit the community.

Here, football clinics are held regularly for youths in addition to other recreational activities for slum residents.

Currently, two football pitches have been built while a third is scheduled to open in December.
