Unemployment declines in Bangladesh: BBS survey

The number of unemployed populations has declined in Bangladesh, according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS) released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) today.

Bangladesh now has 26.3 lakh of jobless people, which is 2.59 per cent lower than 27 lakh seen in 2016-17, finds the survey.

The latest LFS showed that the total labour force rose to 7.34 crore in 2022 from 6.35 crore five years ago. The unemployment rate declined to 3.6 per cent from 4.3 per cent.
