Stocks up in morning trade

Stocks started trading on a positive note today after suffering losses for two consecutive days.

The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was up 0.53 percent as of 11:10 am. 

The index gained 27.77 points to 5,212.12 in the morning trade. 

The market movement showed a positive momentum, as 270 issues advanced, 47 declined, and 61 remained unchanged. 

Total turnover stood at Tk 161.64 crore as of 11:10 am.

C&A Textiles led the gains, rising over 10 percent, while shares of Jute Spinners were down over 5 percent.
