Month-long Dhaka Intl Trade Fair opens

The 30th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) was inaugurated today, exhibiting locally made products to domestic and international customers.

Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin inaugurated the month-long DITF at the Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Centre at Rupganj in Narayanganj.

The DITF is not merely an exhibition. Rather, it is a platform to showcase innovation and groom entrepreneurship. It is an exhibition for showcasing Bangladesh's commercial development, he said in a statement by the commerce ministry after the inauguration.

The fair was scheduled to start on January 1. It was shifted to January 3 after the government declared a three-day national mourning over the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

In this year's fair, the use of polythene bags and single-use plastics has been prohibited. As an alternative, eco-friendly shopping bags will be supplied at reduced prices through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
