Md Mostaqur Rahman new Bangladesh Bank governor

The government has appointed Md Mostaqur Rahman as the governor of Bangladesh Bank for a four-year term, according to a notification issued today by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance.

Adviser to BB governor ‘forced out’ of central bank

In a separate notification, the government cancelled the remaining term of Ahsan H Mansur, the outgoing governor.

Mansur’s contract had originally been scheduled to conclude in August 2028.
