Islami Bank holds orientation for trainee officers

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC yesterday organised an orientation programme for 1,000 newly recruited trainee assistant officers at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in Dhaka.

According to a press release, Prof M Zubaidur Rahman, chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest. In his speech, Rahman said the bank had faced numerous challenges in recent years but had turned each challenge into an opportunity, enabling the institution to regain momentum.

Calling on the young officers to play a vital role in accelerating the bank's progress and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the banking sector, he expressed confidence that the youth would be capable of building a "Developed Bangladesh" and a modern Islamic banking system.

"Those joining the bank today will lead the banking sector tomorrow. Everyone must work with this dream in mind and work hard to realise it," he said.

He also urged the newly appointed officers to earn customers' trust through exemplary conduct and improved service, while striving for professional excellence.

Md Omar Faruk Khan, managing director of the bank, presided over the programme. Md Altaf Hossain and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Majumder, additional managing directors, attended the event as special guests.

M Kamal Uddin Jasim, additional managing director, and Md Mahboob Alam, Mahmudur Rahman, Md Rafiqul Islam, Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, KM Munirul Alam Al-Mamoon and Md Maksudur Rahman, deputy managing directors, were also present.
