IMF suggests uniform exchange rate of dollar in Bangladesh
A team of staff of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff today asked Bangladesh whether it is possible to introduce a uniform exchange rate of the US dollar both for the importers and the exporters.
The IMF team, which is currently visiting Bangladesh, made the call in a meeting with Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh at the commerce ministry in Dhaka.
Moreover, the team also wanted to know about Bangladesh's existing foreign exchange volume and whether the country is taking any effort to increase its export earnings, said Ghosh, who was present in the meeting.
