Gold price keeps breaking record

Gold prices broke the record set a day earlier and hit another historic high of Tk 182,809 a bhori.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) decided to make the rate effective from tomorrow.
The latest rise has added Tk 1,322 per bhori. One bhori is equivalent to around 11.664 grams.
The adjustment followed a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, Bajus said in a statement.
Meanwhile, as Bangladesh does not import any significant quantity of gold, its prices are linked to international trends.
In Bangladesh, the annual demand for gold stands between 20 and 40 tonnes.
About 80 percent of the demand is met through smuggling.
