Eastern Bank posts lower profit in April-June quarter

Eastern Bank Ltd's profit declined 16 per cent year-on-year in the April-June quarter of 2022.

Consolidated earnings per share fell to Tk 1.10 during the quarter from Tk 1.31 reported in the identical period of 2021, according to the unaudited financial statements of the private commercial bank.

In the first half of 2022, EBL reported a consolidated EPS of Tk 2.21, which was Tk 2.28 during the same January-June period last year.
